They did not want to do an extensive renovation because the business may have to be moved to a new building in a few years.
We re-planned their departments and anchored them giving them better traffic exposure. We designed and incorporated overhead structure to create boutiques within their large space and introduced large graphic sign structures repeating the definition of the departments and creating interest for the shopper. We integrated new flooring and a crisper colouration – contemporizing the store. We designed illuminated graphic canopies and punched out the graphics with task track lighting complete with energy efficient lamps. We reused the merchandisers that were working well by re-facing some to give them a more current look. We created new slick merchandisers to better exhibit their products.
Duty Free wanted to focus most of the budget on their alcoholic beverage department – we successfully created a more intimate explorative environment. We designed illuminated soft lit signed canopies integrated with slick millwork to show case their alcoholic beverages. We created a central wine tasting ergonomic fixture. This encouraged a more relaxed explorative environment for the shopper.
The retrofit was organized with required trades and fabricators and the install occurred in the evenings in a less busy time because the store is open 24 – 7.
